Water Tank Cleaning with Gimasur
Gimasur Ambiental has extensive experience in cleaning water tanks and potable water reservoirs. The technicians will remove both sludge through suction and limescale buildup using high-pressure cleaners, performing physical cleaning or mechanical methods.
Subsequently, a chemical cleaning will be carried out using a chemical descaler, finishing the process with disinfection of the tank walls, using products authorized and registered by the Ministry of Health for use in potable water.

Cleaning of Water Tanks and Potable Water Reservoirs
To carry out these cleaning and disinfection tasks, the provisions of the Royal Decree 140/2003, of February 7, will always be taken into account.
This decree establishes the sanitary criteria that must be met by water for consumption and the facilities that allow its supply, from collection to the consumer’s tap, and their control, guaranteeing their safety, quality, cleanliness, and disinfection, in order to protect people’s health from adverse effects derived from any type of contamination of the stored water.
This regulation establishes who is responsible for the facilities and requires at least one cleaning and disinfection service for each potable water tank to be carried out once a year. With each Cleaning and Disinfection service, we issue an Official Sanitary Certificate that can be included in the SINAC.
We also send the Safety Data Sheets, Registration of Hypochlorite with the Ministry of Health and a Photographic Report that shows the previous state and the completed service.

The person responsible for these facilities, both public and private, must regularly inspect their condition, including closure elements, valves, and piping, performing periodic cleanings that include descaling, disinfection, and rinsing with clean water.
For its part, Royal Decree 865/2003 focuses on the prevention and control of Legionella, applying hygienic-sanitary measures in facilities where the Legionella bacteria can proliferate and disperse.
Both decrees complement each other to ensure that potable water facilities maintain an adequate level of health and safety for use.
